The Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association (LLSSA) proudly wrapped up an exciting week of Regional Meetings across the state, visiting four of the five LLSSA regions in just four days. From West Monroe to Shreveport, Lacassine, and Baton Rouge, members came together for continuing education, state updates, and valuable networking.
Each stop on the regional tour blended continuing education with important state updates and opportunities to network. In West Monroe, Region 5 members met at Surge Entertainment for a program that opened with State Fire Marshal training on administrative rules, followed by a business meeting led by Vice President Paul Fontenot and presentations from Chief Bryan Adams, Dave McClintock, and LLSSA leaders. The next day in Shreveport, Region 4 gathered at Great Raft Brewing, where members heard additional Fire Marshal updates, discussed regional business, and connected with industry vendors in a relaxed setting.
Region 3’s meeting was held at the Bayou Rum Distillery in Lacassine. The agenda featured CEU sessions from Hold My Ladder, Plan Review, Alarm Monitoring Services, and United Central Control. After lunch and leadership updates, attendees capped off the day with a social tasting and distillery tour. The week concluded in Baton Rouge, where Region 2 assembled at the Jones Creek Library for CEUs provided by United Central Control, Alarm Monitoring Services, and Hold My Ladder, along with a luncheon that included legislative and regulatory briefings from Kevin Cunningham, representatives of the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and LLSSA leadership.
Attendance across the meetings was outstanding, reflecting the strong engagement of LLSSA members statewide. In addition to the classroom learning, each region included unique social events that encouraged fellowship and connection. Members enjoyed a distillery tour and tasting in Lacassine, golf simulators in Shreveport, the family-friendly atmosphere of Surge Entertainment in West Monroe, and vendor meet-and-greet opportunities in Baton Rouge.
LLSSA extends its deepest gratitude to all sponsors and vendors who supported these meetings, including Alarm Monitoring Services, United Central Control, Fire Tech Systems, Wesco, and Southwest Dispatch.
The association now looks ahead to its biggest event of the year, the Annual Convention, scheduled for November 19–20, 2025, at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. This gathering will feature training sessions, CEUs, networking opportunities, a tradeshow, and more. Complete details about the convention are available at llssa.org/convention.
