Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association Gives Scholarship Prizes to Two Deserving Students

(Lafayette, LA) June 1, 2015 – The Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association (LLSSA), a chartered chapter of the Electronic Security Association (ESA), recently awarded first and second place scholarship prizes to two deserving high school students. The association’s scholarship program recognizes the academic and community achievements of the children of area police officers and fire fighters.

Lindsay Beauregard has been awarded the first place scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Lindsay, who will attend University of Houston in the fall, was one of many qualified applicants to enter the contest. Lindsay graduated from Alexandria Senior High School and has an outstanding academic and community record.

The second place scholarship winner is Kenedy Lampert. She has been awarded $1,000 for this achievement. Kenedy will attend Northwest State University next year. Kenedy graduated from Buckeye High School. Her academic achievements are quite impressive, as are her extracurricular and community activities.

The first place winner was automatically entered in the national contest. The national first and second place winners were selected among all the state winners. The ESA Youth Scholarship program awards two scholarships. The first place national winner received $7,500 and the second place winner received $2,500. This year the first place winner is from Pennsylvania and the second place winner is from New Jersey.

Ed Hilderbrand, LLSSA Scholarship Chairman, indicated, “I am particularly excited about our scholarship program. As an industry, we want to give back to the police and fire communities for their hard work and dedication. The scholarship program is a small way for us to say, ‘Thanks and a job well done.’ The true reward comes when you realize that your association and your industry are helping a deserving student pay for their education.”
